Please join the City of Beverly Hills at a September 19, 2019 Scoping Meeting to provide public comment on the environmental review process for the Westside Purple Line Rodeo Station North Portal. The proposed project is a second entrance/exit for the Wilshire/Rodeo Station on the north side of Wilshire Boulevard.
The City of Beverly Hills (City) and Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) are evaluating a secondary north portal (North Portal) for the Wilshire/Rodeo Station on Metro’s Westside Purple Line Extension. The City will identify a station location for the North Portal station entrance/exit through the preparation of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). The process will involve evaluation and screening of alternatives, as well as intensive community engagement and public outreach efforts.
The proposed secondary North Portal entrance for the Wilshire/Rodeo Station would provide direct access to dense commercial activity centers located north of Wilshire Boulevard. Three potential North Portal station entrances/exits will be presented: the west side of Beverly Drive north of Wilshire Boulevard, the west side of Cañon Drive north of Wilshire Boulevard, and the construction staging yard on the corner of Cañon Drive and Wilshire Boulevard.
Metro’s Wilshire/Rodeo Station will be located under Wilshire Boulevard, with the main entrance on the southwest corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Reeves Drive. The underground station is part of the Purple Line Extension Section 2 that will extend Metro’s subway to downtown Beverly Hills and Century City. Section 2 is under construction and anticipated to be completed by 2025.
