Stop the Bleed

Stop the Bleed Logo

Out of an abundance of caution, the City has begun the process of encouraging social distancing, including postponing certain events. The Stop the Bleed Training scheduled for Thursday, March 19, 2020 has been cancelled.

Motivated by the 2012 tragedy in Sandy Hook and multiple tragedies thereafter, leaders from across the nation met to improve survivability from terroristic events or natural disasters. The consensus was to develop a first responder program to teach laypersons the technique of managing bleeding emergencies prior to Public Safety personnel arriving on scene.

True to this nationwide initiative, the Beverly Hills Fire Department, in partnership with Beverly Hills CPR, continues to provide Stop the Bleed training to all interested community members, businesses, and visitors alike.

Stop the Bleed training is designed for individuals who have little or no medical training. Upon completion of the one-hour Stop the Bleed course, attendees will be able to recognize a bleeding emergency and will be trained to control bleeding before professional First Responders arrive on scene. The Stop the Bleed course is comprised of both a live class and hands-on skills stations.

For more information and or class registration, please contact Beverly Hills CPR at 310.281.2753 or visit www.bhcpr.org. You may also visit www.bleedingcontrol.org for more information.
